NSS


Our students show keen interest in the social welfare activities and the take for in all types of programme. The NSS programme was a started in the college in the year 2001 and every year more than and volunteers. Actually participated in running camps organization Blood Donation programmes teaching hygiene and sanitation to the rural pupation conducting class for the children and suggesting employment opportunities for rural women. They also conducted awareness programme on HIV health care and training on house and farm wiring simple electrical maintenance and others. Over the years, NSS volunteers have desisted five lakes and laid metal roads in three villages and construction drainage system in Peurmalpattu villege. Our NSS volunteers also participated in the Rain water Harvesting Campaign Program at North Madras on 27.7.2003. The Chairman of CMWC has also appreciated our students efforts.


COMMUNITY POLYTECNIC SCHEME


• SRIRAM POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE has been sanctioned the Community Polytechnic Scheme by the Ministry of HRD Government of India in the year 1996. • For the first time the scheme was introduced in Tamilnadu at Sriram Polytechnic College benefiting backward area of Tiruvallur Taluk. It imports free vocational training to any citizen irrespective of his poor education. • The Ministry of HRD Govt. of india sanctioned Rs 10 lakhs for Non recurring and Rs 7 Lakhs per annum for Recurring. • So far we have completed 15 batches of training both in Main centre and extension centres. • Totally 7470 candidates have been benefited from this scheme and found employment for the livelihood.
