The Department of Chemistry was started in 1993 in order to inculcate the aspects of applied chemistry and Engineering chemistry to B.E / B.Tech students. The department acquired sufficient infrastructure facilities in terms of buildings, labs and equipments. The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty members supported by Non-Teaching Staff. The department is headed by Dr.A.Suresh.
Laboratories

Our laboratories namely Organic Laboratory, Applied Chemistry Lab, Physical Chemistry Lab, Instrumentation and Analytical Lab are well designed and highly equipped to handle the I and II year B.E / B.Tech students and good infra-structural facilities to do research.
a) Major Equipments: pH meter, conductivity meter, potentiometer, melting point apparatus, polarimeter, heating mantles, suction pumps, heating water bath with regulator, hot plate, hot air oven, mechanical shacking machine, analytical balance, vacuum drier, compressor, magetic stirrer, water still.
b) Special Equipments: Flame photometer, Spectrometer and Polarimeter.
